As I read this I am receiving multiple tweets about an active shooting in progress at a Christian school in Nashville. Multiple casualties. Sometimes I just can’t believe what our world has become. Laura’s post for today said to use coping mechanisms…they are certainly needed. 🙏🙏🙏

NEW ZEALAND

Kia ora from Aotearoa (commonly known as New Zealand).

My weekend flew by at great speed. I had plenty of reflective time. It’s harvest time here with

plants having their autumn flush.

As all my friends in the northern hemisphere are celebrating the beginning of spring, we are

harvesting our crops to take us through winter.

I come from the far north and this year, we’re pretty much in agreement that we have been living

in the summer less north, but it was more usually known as the winter less north before this year.

I survived the hurricane but sadly many didn’t and it’s being concealed. It’s kind of

incomprehensible here.

I went out walking and took a photo of a tree trunk that came down in the hurricane. I find that art,

photography and nature time helps me maintain my health. Nature is my greatest confidant.

We don’t have snow and rarely have frost here. Bananas, pawpaws and pineapples grow here.

Potatoes can be grown all year round.

The far north people have a reputation for being least compliant. Since the country wasn’t quite

fully colonised, more racial targeting happened here, and mistrust was firmly established long

ago.

That kind of targeting leads to poverty. So we have the extremes here of meth addictions creating

chaos in communities and the many who pull together and help one another out in many creative

ways too.

So there’s the weekend party, which finished early this time, the ruru (native owl) calling through

the night, and me, an observer, taking time to tune in and move ahead in divine will in divine time.

Most of my weekend was spent in conscious creating mode, released of a traumatic history,

poised in launching my new beginning in this epic time we share.

In lak’ech. I am another you.
