Another Long Void
The Voids this month are unique. 10 of them will manage to happen overnight – spanning between 2 days. I generally consider this good as it means they happen overnight and we do not have to worry about their affects throughout the day.
HOWEVER three of them last so long as to span an entire day. Those complete day Voids include the 3rd, 8th and 30th. By and large, a lot of the same effects of a Mercury Retrograde also apply to a Void of Course. I personally refer to these as “Out of Time” as they are times that basically don’t count. Of have a lot of trouble actually counting. Things you are planning often do not come to fruition. Or have to be reworked afterwards.
For me today, I am not exactly being lazy. However I came across an article on Facebook on the Ancient Order of Hermetics page. And it speaks to the same subject I have been talking about for the past few days. That there may be an easy way to gain access to the divine.
The Hermetics were keepers of secrets. They were called secrets as the information often became hunted down and persecuted by those in power. In this case, primarily the Catholic Church.
Much of the information the Hermetics worked with was adopted into the Masonic order and other secret societies.
Does this unlock the secrets of the world? Not exactly. But it offers a clue as to the mindset of the people still searching for information about the divine.

⛧ The Square & Compass: Gateways of the Architect—As Above, So Below ⛧
Across millennia, from the sands of Egypt to the temples of India, from the stone circles of the Druids to the glyphs of the Olmec, the Square and Compass have endured as sacred instruments—not merely tools of architecture, but cosmic emblems for those who sought to build not just with stone, but with consciousness.
To the initiated, these are not Masonic symbols alone, nor are they owned by any single tradition. They are archetypal keys, passed down through mystery schools, Hermetic lineages, and esoteric circles as universal metaphors of balance, creation, and spiritual mastery.
???? The Square – Foundation of the Material
The Square, as we explored before, represents Earth, structure, form, and the material world. It is the tool of grounding, measuring, and aligning the manifest. It represents the four elements, the four corners of the Earth, and the four cardinal virtues—Temperance, Prudence, Fortitude, and Justice.
In the initiate’s path, the Square reminds us that our actions must be squared, measured by integrity and grounded in truth. It is the base upon which the temple is built—the physical, emotional, and moral foundation we must lay before attempting any ascent.
???? The Compass – Arc of the Spirit
The Compass, in contrast, is the tool of spirit, arc, and infinity. It draws circles, symbolizing unity, wholeness, the eternal, and the unseen realms. It represents the soul’s capacity to transcend matter, to draw down heavenly order, and to dream the unmanifest into being. It is the arc of consciousness—the womb of divine potential.
Where the Square defines boundaries, the Compass reveals the boundless. It invites us to expand, to stretch our awareness beyond form, to recognize that the true temple is not just stone or law, but the living soul sculpted by will and vision.
Together – The Alchemy of Balance
When the Square and Compass are united, we behold the sacred marriage of Earth and Heaven, form and spirit, matter and mind.
The Compass above the Square shows spirit ruling over matter, the initiate who has conquered the lower nature.
The Square beneath the Compass speaks to discipline in the lower planes, structure in the seen world.
And between them lies the mystic point—the consciousness of the initiate, the soul learning to balance both and become the Living Stone.
This union is Hermetics in action. “As Above, So Below” is not poetry—it is blueprint. The Square and Compass together teach that you are the architect of your own temple, and you are building in two dimensions: the seen and the unseen, the inner and the outer, the flesh and the light.
???? The Most Ancient Symbol
Before Freemasonry, before the Templars, before the Greeks, the Square and Compass were tools of sacred science in Egypt, Sumeria, and ancient India. In the temples of Karnak and Luxor, sacred geometry governed architecture. Priests and scribes used these instruments to build in alignment with cosmic law, for they knew that what we build on Earth must reflect the Heavens.
They weren’t building tombs—they were constructing portals. Aligning Earthly structures with celestial bodies was an act of magic. It was Hermetics lived through architecture.
In the Ancient Order of the Hermetics, we remember this. We do not simply study symbols—we embody them. We use them not to decorate our walls but to refine our souls.
The Square reminds us: “Know thy boundaries. Lay thy foundation. Walk in integrity.”
The Compass whispers: “Dream beyond limits. Rise above illusion. Seek the divine pattern.”
Together, they remind us of the sacred labor: To master the Earth without being bound to it, and to rise to Spirit without becoming lost in illusion.
You are both Builder and Temple.
You are both Mason and Stone.
You are both Square and Compass.
Use them well. Measure your steps. Expand your circle. Build the temple within, and all else will reflect it.
